A central part of Ingleby Farms’ strategy in achieving our 2030 synthetic pesticide-free goal is biological pest control using beneficial insects.

Protecting natural habitats

As part of our Farming with Nature principle, we strive to protect and enhance biodiversity. One way we do that is by designating and protecting areas for natural habitats and water bodies.

Growing food

We believe that healthy soil will not only improve yields, but also the nutritional value of our products. We believe that there is a correlation between fertile soil, healthy plants and the quality of the grain, fruit or nut.

Open farm days

We have open doors days on several farms each year, welcoming neighbours, local business partners and schools to visit our farms and learn more about our way of farming.

Reducing synthetic pesticides

In 2019, we set the goal of becoming synthetic pesticide-free by 2030. Since then, we have reduced use on our crops by 23% against our benchmark.

Landscape tools

Farming with Nature has been refined on our farms in Latvia and Lithuania. Here, we have used landscape tools throughout the farms.

Ecosystem engineers

Earthworms are often called ‘ecosystem engineers’ for good reasons.

Tropical dry forest

To allow the forest to regenerate, we have secured it from grazers such as goats and limited human access.

Integrating livestock into cropping systems

Spot spraying is a camera system technology that enables the sprayer to spray the specific weed solely, not the crop.

Certified Humane, Uruguay

Animal welfare has always been a top priority for us. We are proud to be the first beef producers in Latin America to obtain the “Certified Humane – Raised & Handled” certification.

Bees and pollinators. Pollination is an essential service provided by nature. We protect pollinators on-farm by enhancing habitats and reducing our impact.

Intelligent irrigation

State-of-the-art technology is used in Romania to irrigate our blueberries.

When we started our 3-year journey to convert our Lithuanian farm to certified organic, we knew that it would be challenging.
